Learning and Attention issues costs the state of California $12 billion annually (~5% of the state budget). By giving students with diverse learning profiles internships, we can work to empower them and provide career opportunities that they might not have known were otherwise possible. Increased support, encouragement and opportunity will work to address high-school drop-out rates, juvenile delinquency and unemployment which affects students with diverse learning profiles disproportionately higher than their neurotypical counterparts.

For these reasons, we believe our fellowships must be available to all neurodiverse learners. As AOC says, “experience doesn’t pay the bills.”

Thank you for your support.
